Nest Cam only works as a baby monitor with nest aware subscription. But recently Nest made a move that really makes it economical. Previously the least expensive Nest Aware plan was $10 a month. This allowed for 10 days of recorded video and all of the above features. However, for most Nest Cam owners 10 days is actually a bit overkill. I for one really only need a few days of recorded footage. Just enough time to login and download any relevant clips if anything happens. That is why I was stoked when I heard that Nest is now offering a $5 plan. This new $5 a month Nest Aware subscription is really the sweet spot for Nest Cam owners. Furthermore, if you have multiple cameras, every extra camera after the first one only costs $3 per month.

But how can you switch to this plan if you are already signed up for the $10 or $30 a month plan? Well, we gave it a try and it is quite simple. Just login to your Nest App, click on settings for your camera and go to the Nest Aware section.
